This is a great little home made body scrub to get the circulation going and to assist with detoxing, it is also likely that you will have many of the ingredients already in your garden/kitchen and if not they are easily found. It has been mild so far this year so the fresh mint is still lingering in most gardens…..
1 x Handful of a mix of fresh herbs;
- Lavender – use the leaf and flowers if you still have any on the plant
- Mint – this may have died down for the winter but I do still have some in my garden, otherwise you can get little mint plants throughout the year – it will grow inside happily in a light spot with plenty of water – just remember if you do plant out in the spring – plant it in a pot as it is very invasive.
- Rosemary – use the leaves taken off the stem, again rosemary will live all year and is evergreen, it does however prefer a sheltered spot (from wind and frost) in soil with good drainage and plenty of sun (think Mediterranean)
1 x small cup of Sea Salt
150ml Olive Oil (roughly)
Place the Sea Salt and mixed, roughly chopped herbs in an empty jar and saturate the whole lot in olive oil – just so it is kind of ‘claggy’ – then rub all over in the shower. Will keep in the fridge happily for a few weeks.
Salt draws impurities out of the skin whilst assisting to remove dead skin layers, the oil softens the skin underneath.
Olive Oil softens and moisturises the skin.
Lavender, Rosemary and Mint all have antiseptic, antioxidant and detox properties – and they smell fantastic.
